Our Story

Amirrah kick-started as an initiative rooted in the ideals of giving back to the community. Ingrained in the founder's own values and principles, the themes of family and feminism became the driving force behind Amirrah's vision to promote a world where every woman and child receives lifelong wellbeing, dignity and opportunity through integrated, equitable and sustainable systems of care and support.

At Amirrah, we understand that - whether planned or unplanned - pregnancies can alter your life forever. Our aim via this venture is to support you through the appropriate next steps in your journey by providing you with quality healthcare that looks after your physical and mental well-being throughout the pre-conception, pregnancy, postpartum and/or post-abortion or miscarriage phases. Additionally, our specialised early childhood development programme also caters to your child(ren)'s cognitive and physical development, which remains most susceptible from the ages of 0-3.

We believe that our holistic lifecycle approach that allows us to tackle sexual and reproductive health as well as early childhood development at their intersection with mental health. This approach allows us to address physical and mental wellbeing as equal components of quality wellbeing rather than presenting mental health as an afterthought.

In line with this, our efforts are currently focused in two geographies - India and Kenya - across the following verticals:

  • Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH);

  • Early Childhood Development (ECD); and

  • Mental Health (MH)

Lastly, our grant programmes allow us to cater to the individual needs of the most vulnerable and underserved populations in both geographies.
