Sexual Coercion

What is it: 

Sexual coercion happens when someone is pressured, manipulated or tricked into sexual activity they do not freely choose. This can occur within intimate relationships or communities where consent is ignored.

Examples: 

  • Pressure from a partner about sex 

  • Manipulation using guilt or threats

  • Fear-based compliance without real consent
